Welcome to the newest section of the Brass Beat Site - MP3's for your listening pleasure!

Many of you will remember a recording session back in 1990 that included ALL bands - Brass Beat, Blues 'n' Brass and Jumpin' with Joy. Copies of the recordings were given to the members of the organization as momentos of their Brass Beat years. Recently, David Brumley (Alto Sax - 1989-1990) took the time to turn the tape into MP3's, so sit back and enjoy! (And thank David for his hard work when you get a chance: dbrumley@rtfm.stanford.edu.) BTW - David's tape is worn out, thanks to these efforts. If someone out there can dub him aother one, please contact him! Thanks! --cjg14apr02

Disclaimer:

The recordings contained herein were performed by members of Brass Beat Inc. - a non-profit youth musical education group that operated in the Denver Metro area for 24 years. Brass Beat was the performing band, and their efforts helped to fund the other training bands of the Brass Beat organization: "Blues 'n' Brass" and "Jumpin' with Joy". The tape was recorded by and for Brass Beat members for their own enjoyment - and for posterity - and was never sold nor was it distributed to individuals or groups outside the Brass Beat organization.
Many of the musicians heard on these tapes, as well as members from all of the Brass Beat years, can be heard today in "ghost bands" from the Big Band Era, touring with pop artists, sitting in symphony orchestras around the world, performing with their own bands, teaching music and/or playing for their own enjoyment.
Enjoy listening to these musicians when they were starting out - when you visit this site, but please also remember that these songs are protected by various copyrights and performance rights organizations.

In other words, if you snag 'em here and you get caught... you alone will bear the legal ramifications of your actions.
